New Jersey Laity Set Priorities at Fall Festival

By Seth Bardu

Recently, I spoke for divine worship at the New Jersey Conference’s English Festival of the Laity, held at the Newark English church. Instead of Sabbath School, newly elected president José Cortés convened a strategic visioning session. Members were asked to work in small groups to brainstorm a list of priorities they want to see the conference address during the next five years. After my message “The Midnight Cry,” based on Matthew 25, leaders spent the afternoon training church departmental leaders. My wife, son, and I were truly blessed to spend the Sabbath with these dedicated members and leaders.
