Chesapeake’s Spiritual Retreat Inspires Teens

By Josue Sanchez

What happens when the Holy Spirit “rains”? Seventeen young people get baptized. More than 170 teens attended Chesapeake’s Generation Rain retreat for high school youth at Mount Aetna Camp and Retreat Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Keynote speaker, Willie Ramos, an ordained lay pastor from Florida, reminded students that the time is now for their generation to be open to the Holy Spirit and to share Jesus with others. During the weekend, many young people renewed their personal commitments to follow Jesus.

“I had an amazing time,” says Sarah Quimby, a senior at Spencerville Adventist Academy in Silver Spring, Md. “I felt really connected to God.”
