Frederick Member Named Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce Chair
By Cindy Glass
Rob Jepson, Adventist HealthCare’s vice president of Government Affairs and Public Affairs, was sworn in last month as chairman of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce in the state of Maryland. Jepson is a member of Chesapeake Conference’s Frederick (Md.) church.
Jepson is well known throughout Montgomery County and Maryland—but especially in the upper part of the county—for his tireless work on behalf of businesses and health-related issues. He was recently the chamber’s vice chairman of Legislative Affairs, and will serve for one year as chairman.
The Chamber of Commerce, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last month, consists of 400 members, including cutting-edge biotech firms, manufacturing companies, real estate development organizations, restaurants, and numerous small businesses.
“I thoroughly enjoy interacting with the staff and members of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, a pragmatic organization that, through the years, has been and is honorably and consistently supportive of the basic principle that business and jobs are necessary for creating a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable community,” Jepson said in his December speech at the chamber’s annual dinner.
The chamber fosters business-to-business relationships through monthly networking events throughout the year. It is committed to business/community partnerships in education, health, and other areas of mutual interest.
Jepson has been with Adventist HealthCare for 16 years, first serving as Communications director. He is also a native of Montgomery County, was born at Washington Adventist Hospital and raised in Takoma Park, Md. He now lives in Frederick with his wife and two children.
