Kettering College of Medical Arts (KCMA) faculty, staff and students gathered in the Boonshoft Center for Medical Sciences on January 26 to participate in “Texting for Haiti.” The event also allowed community members to show support for earthquake-ravaged Haiti, as everyone texted donations to the Red Cross Relief Fund at the same time. By week’s end, the college raised more than $3,400 to support Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

“Our hearts have been in deep anguish over how to support and help the people of Haiti in this time of catastrophe,” said Clive Wilson KCMA chaplain and one of the event organizers. “This is our way of coming together as an academic community of faith and providing spiritual and financial support to the survivors of the earthquake.”
