Columbia Union Churches Attend CHIP Training

By Katia Reinert, RN, MSN

Motivated with a passion to use health as the right arm of the gospel, 20 churches from around the Columbia Union territory sent pastors and lay health ministry team members to attend the Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) Train the Trainer workshop March 26-28. Held at Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, Pa., and sponsored by a partnership between Adventist HealthCare and the Pennsylvania Conference, this CHIP training attracted more than 70 Columbia Union attendees.

Health ministry leaders and their teams had wonderful worship times together, gained knowledge of how to conduct a lifestyle program, and left the training motivated with a challenge to help their churches become a center for health, healing and wholeness in the community.
