Rob Vandeman, un administrateur et pasteur qui a exercé son ministère pour l’Église Adventiste Septième Jour depuis près de 50 ans, a annoncé qu’il prévoyait de démissionner à la fin de l’année de son rôle de secrétaire exécutif de l’Union de Columbia.

Pasteur Vandeman, qui occupe son poste actuel depuis 2011, planifie de continuer à travailler pour l’Union de Columbia à un certain titre jusqu›à l’assemblée des membres de l’union en juillet 2021.

Columbia Union Publishes Communication Handbook

Earlier this year, the Columbia Union’s Office of Strategic Communication and Public Relations partnered with AdventSource to publish the Communication Handbook with articles on copyright law, social media, media relations, video production, marketing, photography, branding, news writing, website design and more.

Project coordinator and editor, Celeste Ryan Blyden, vice president for Strategic Communication and Public Relations, notes, “Our goal was to provide tools and
ideas to facilitate and enhance efforts to tell our Church’s stories and share our message internally and externally.”

Search Committee to Replace Rob Vandeman Set Up

In September the union Executive Committee set up a search committee to replace Rob Vandeman, who plans to retire from that position at the end of 2020. The candidate will serve in an interim capacity until the Union’s constituency meeting July 10-11, 2021, when officers will be elected for the next five-year term.

‘Blessings in Disguise’: Evangelism Efforts Thrive Through Pandemic

Many churches across the Columbia Union Conference are still closed for in-person worship due to the coronavirus pandemic, including all churches in the Allegheny East and West conferences. Churches in the New Jersey Conference have experienced 38 deaths as a result of COVID-19. Eighty percent of these churches are now open at 25 percent capacity, reported President Dave Weigley at the September 17 Columbia Union Conference Executive Committee meeting.
