Kettering Health aspires to recognize the whole patient by supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in every interaction. It’s a value that radiation therapists Jessica Schwab, Zach Gregus and Crystal Bullock have taken to heart.

The trio spearheaded Coats for a Cure, which partners with local hospitals to establish Care Closets. The Dayton-based nonprofit, founded in October 2025, opened its first closet at Kettering Health Main Campus on Jan. 6 and added a second with a ribbon cutting Jan. 21 at Soin Medical Center.

Just two weeks after his installation at the Renewed church in Aspen Hill, Md., Pastor Paul Graham found himself leading his new congregation through an unexpected season of grief. Within 14 days, four members passed away, leaving the church family navigating what many described as compounded loss.

Washington Adventist University (WAU) today announced that President Weymouth Spence, Ed.D., will conclude his tenure as president, effective June 30, 2026, and will transition to a new role, effective July 1, 2026.

In this new role, Dr. Spence will devote his attention to advancing critical campus infrastructure initiatives central to WAU's long-term success. He will build on the momentum of the university’s Vision 2030 plan to drive academic innovation, strengthen partnerships and increase institutional visibility to enhance the learning environment for student success.

Helping You Get ‘Fit for Life’, Pennsylvania Conference, Blue Mountain Academy, Whole Health Expo

Adventist WholeHealth Network (AWHN) is planning to help you get “Fit for Life” during this year’s camp meeting, June 12–20, on the campus of Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, Pa.

Each evening, AWHN will share a video featuring simple ways to incorporate healthier living. The weekday seminars will share practical ideas, resources and information for getting fit and for using Health Ministries to connect with your community.

After hearing “you have cancer,” patients often want to begin treatment without a long wait.

Adventist HealthCare White Oak Cancer Center and Shady Grove Aquilino Cancer Center, in partnership with Maryland Oncology Hematology, are advancing and accelerating patient care with the launch of a lab for next generation sequencing (NGS) – one of only a few labs integrated into a physician practice in the United States.

Throughout spring, WGTS 91.9 listeners have supported mothers facing financial hardship by donating diapers. Since March, the “Covered with Love” diaper drive has collected nearly 70,000 diapers, which have been distributed to local churches, shelters and diaper banks. The Hands and Heart initiative is part of the station’s ongoing community outreach efforts.

On May 17, delegates to the Columbia Union Conference 29th Constituency Meeting voted to approve a new executive committee to serve for the next five-year term. 

Executive committee members are composed of presidents, pastors and lay members from each of Columbia Union’s eight conferences. They also include representatives from the union’s headquarters, Washington Adventist University, Adventist HealthCare and Kettering Health.
